Kanye West is back with one of his many controversies. His recent fight with Labels Universal and Sony over the right to own his songs has taking a new turn. The multiple Grammy award winner took to Twitter yesterday with a video of him urinating on one of his awards. This is seen by many as a statement to Label Universal and other record labels to address the fact that artists are being cheated in their record contracts.

The popular rapper twitted “Trust me… I WON’T STOP” on his page telling the public that he intends to go the distance. Kanye also said “90% of the record contracts on the planet are still on a royalty. A record deal is a trap to never have you recoup, and there’s all these hidden costs like the ‘distribution fee’ many labels put in their contracts to make even more money off our work without even trying.”

Kanye’s graphic message did bring out some positives as fellow music producer Hit-Boy was moved to speak up saying “This tweet is something I can agree with though. @umpg has held me in what the last 3 lawyers I’ve hired have referred to as the ‘worst publishing contract they’ve ever seen’. Hit-Boy signed his contract when he was 19 years old and now at age 33, the young songwriter is still a victim of slave contracts. He went on to say “If they’re doing this to me with all I’ve accomplished through hard work I can only imagine the kids who don’t have proper guidance. If I have to be the one to get blackballed for telling the truth and trying to set the next generation free so be it” he said on Twitter.

Kanye recently called other artists like Kendrick Lamar and Drake to also speak up on social media and aid his fight against slave contracts. However noble his quest is, fans still find his Urination picture quite graphic and feel there are better ways of addressing an issue this sensitive.
