Nollywood Icon Genevieve Nnaji, has taking the initiative from her colleagues to empower Nigerian youths against the notorious SARS unit. She took to her Instagram page to call out President Buhari asking him to take action.
The Nollywood star posted an open letter on her Instagram page asking the Nigerian president to do something against the brutality Nigerian youths are facing. She gave her niece’s personal encounter with SARS. She said “My niece was harassed by SARS for carrying a laptop. Her own laptop. She was slapped across the face for simply asking why her laptop was being seized.” Genevieve went further to ask President Buhari to take this situation as his chance to build his legacy.
Genevieve is not the only celebrity that has called out a political figure. Wizkid called out Governor Sonwolu on twitter when #EndSARS was only a vocal trend on twitter and asked the Lagos state governor to take action. Celebrities are leading the protests to empower youths to make their voices heard.
