Ex- Big Brother star, Mike Edwards is an outspoken member of the enraged Nigerian youth. The professional athlete was triggered by the mass shooting that happened at the Lekki Toll gates in Lagos. Mike chose to tell his fans how Nigeria’s system has cost him a family member.
On Sunday, the 25th of October 2020, Mike Edwards took to his Instagram page to share how his older brother died at the hands of Nigeria’s poor health care. Mike wrote “My older brother Matthew lost his life during a sickle cell crisis in Nigeria when he was 10 years old, to think if he would have been in a country with better healthcare support that his life would be saved today is heartbreaking. The fight to End SARS is our cry for help after years of corruption and bad governance.”
Mike’s grief is the same feeling laid on the shoulders of a lot of families who lost member at the Lekki Toll gate massacre.
