Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has strongly condemned the actions of a Facebook impersonator who uses her name and photos to mislead the public. She revealed that the individual runs a blog with over 2.7 million followers, posting false stories under her identity and profiting off her reputation.

In a video statement, Ojo expressed her frustration about the situation, explaining that many fans mistakenly believe the fraudulent account belongs to her. She said the individual behind the page has been profiting from her image by spreading fabricated content and misleading the public.

Ojo stated that she had previously reported the page to Facebook, but the impostor quickly changed its name to “Iyabo Ojo Lovers” to appear like a fan account. According to her, this move made it more difficult to have the page taken down.

The actress explained that she personally joined Facebook to monitor and expose such fake profiles. She said she has known about the impersonation for some time, but the issue escalated when the fake account began copying and reposting her verified content.

Calling the act deceitful and unprofessional, Ojo warned the impostor to immediately remove her name and pictures or face serious consequences. She emphasized that impersonation not only damages her reputation but also confuses her fans, who often contact her about posts she never made.

She also addressed the broader issue of social media impersonation, noting that several fake accounts exist on both Facebook and TikTok under her name. Ojo urged those responsible to stop exploiting her identity and warned that she would take further steps to ensure the fraudulent page is permanently deleted.
