Early Life

Uzor Arukwe was born on August 6, 1983, in Nkwerre, Imo State, Nigeria. He grew up in Port Harcourt, where he attended Nigerian Navy Secondary School. His academic journey led him to earn a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in the same field from Abia State University. He later pursued a master’s degree in Business Administration in Calabar, showcasing a balance between academics and the arts from early on.

Career

Arukwe began his acting career in 2014 with the film Unspoken Truth. However, he gained wider attention with his performance in Sergeant Tutu, a role that introduced him to a broader Nollywood audience. His portrayal of a private investigator in the political thriller Code Wilo further elevated his reputation as a versatile actor capable of handling layered roles.

Known for his seamless transitions between comedy and drama, Uzor received critical acclaim for his roles in Smash and Size 12. Both performances earned him nominations for “Best Actor in a Comedy or Movie” at the 2020 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards. He was also recognized at the 2021 Best of Nollywood Awards for his performance in Yours Regardless.

Uzor Arukwe has starred in a range of notable films, including A Tribe Called Judah, Malaika, Head Over Bills, Momiwa, and Love in Every Word. His ability to deliver convincing performances across genres continues to make him a standout in the Nigerian film industry.
