Early Life
Udoma Peter Kelvin Amba, known professionally as Kel-P, is a renowned Nigerian record producer, singer, and songwriter. Born and raised in Lagos State, he developed his passion for music from a young age. Kel-P is the founder and CEO of Bully Entertainment and currently holds deals with Universal Music Publishing France, Universal Music France, and Virgin Music France, while also being managed by Jones Worldwide. He previously worked with Aristokrat Records from 2019 to 2023.
He gained global recognition in 2019 for exclusively producing and co-writing Burna Boy’s Grammy-nominated album African Giant. Over the years, he has helped shape the global sound of Afrobeats and contributed to multiple Grammy-winning and nominated projects, including Angélique Kidjo’s Mother Nature, Wizkid’s Made in Lagos (Deluxe), Janelle Monáe’s The Age of Pleasure, and Davido’s Timeless.
Career
Kel-P’s career took a major turn in 2016 when he met producer Sarz, who mentored him and helped him craft his iconic producer tag, “It’s Kel-P Vibes”. His breakthrough came in 2018 after producing Solid Star’s single “Eleganza,” which paved the way for major collaborations.
He has since worked with prominent artists such as Burna Boy, Rema, Wizkid, Diamond Platnumz, and Niniola, delivering hits like Dangote, Peace of Mind, Jeje, Boda Sodiq, and Ghetto Love.
In 2020, Kel-P signed a distribution deal with Universal Music France following the label’s partnership with Aristokrat Group. That same year, the Grammy Awards recognized his contribution to Skip Marley’s album Higher Place.
In 2021, he celebrated a Grammy win for producing on Angélique Kidjo’s Mother Nature and earned another nomination for Wizkid’s Made in Lagos (Deluxe). By 2023, Kel-P had stepped into the spotlight as a solo artist with the release of his debut single One More Night. That same year, Universal Music Publishing France renewed his global publishing deal to support the upcoming release of his extended play Bully Season Vol.2.
He also launched Bully Entertainment as a joint venture with Jones Worldwide, where he now serves as CEO, expanding his influence both creatively and corporately in the music industry.
