Early Life
Emoseh Khamofu, professionally known as Bloody Civilian, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer signed to 0207 Def Jam, the UK division of Def Jam Recordings. Originally from Taraba State, she grew up in Northern Nigeria, moving between Kaduna, Jos, and Abuja—a diverse upbringing that deeply influenced her artistic voice.
Raised in a strict, conservative home, Emoseh had limited freedom, but she discovered a creative escape in music. In school, she gained recognition for her singing and guitar-playing talents, often performing her original songs during talent shows. Her peers even memorized her lyrics. As a teenager, she began producing beats and shared them with rappers in school, steadily improving her production skills while exploring her musical identity.
At just 8 years old, she started writing songs and gave them to her parents. Her father, a former touring band member, saw potential in her and encouraged her to study music—making him one of her earliest supporters. Emoseh chose the name “Bloody Civilian” to reflect the military violence she witnessed growing up in Northern Nigeria.

In 2023, she followed up with “I Don’t Like You” and “Escapism,” which served as lead singles for her debut EP Anger Management, released through Def Jam.
