Nigerian singer Victony has shared how his parents became supportive of his music career—but only after a near-death experience in 2021.
Speaking on the Behind The Prestige podcast, Victony revealed that before his car accident, his parents preferred he study and work as an engineer. They never told him to quit music, but they weren’t fully supportive of it either.
Things changed after the tragic car crash he was involved in back in April 2021. The accident claimed one life and left three others injured, including Victony himself. It was a painful and emotional time.
Victony said his parents were moved by the massive public support he received. Social media was filled with prayers and encouragement from fans. It made his family realize how much his music meant to people.
