Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has opened up about a heartbreaking moment in his life that many never knew. The popular Yoruba movie star revealed that he lost his first child due to poverty.
In a recent emotional confession, Chatta shared that before his son Malik, he had a daughter. Sadly, he lost her because he could not afford the hospital bills needed to keep her alive at the time.
“My first child is not Malik. The first child I had died,” he revealed.
He recalled how he desperately tried to raise the money for her treatment. He trekked long distances, moving from Ijora-Badia to Itolo in Orile, then through Lawanson to Costain, and all the way to Makoko. He did all this while hawking puff-puff, hoping to gather enough money to pay the hospital. Unfortunately, by the time he was able to raise something, it was too late. The hospital refused to treat her without payment, and she died.

“They buried her with the wooden Coca-Cola tray,” he said.
Chatta also shared a touching story about his current daughter. He said that during a trip to Dubai, he bought her a diamond chain for her leg. When her mother asked why he went out of his way for the girl, he told her about the daughter he lost. He said that was the first time he opened up about the painful chapter, and everyone cried.
Today, the actor is grateful for his children but hopes to have more. He said God has blessed him with three children so far, but he wants to expand his family.
Fans have been moved by his story, praising his strength and resilience despite the hardships he faced. Many are sending him prayers and good wishes, hoping he finds peace from the pain of losing his first child.
