Veteran actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli has shared an honest look into the roots of her 24-year marriage to Nnamdi Oboli, revealing that she and her husband built their commitment long before they walked down the aisle in 2000.

In a heartfelt conversation, Omoni explained that she and Nnamdi made a clear decision early on: they would never consider divorce. That decision, she said, gave their marriage the stability it needed to endure over the years.
“Staying married this long starts with a decision,” she said. “Even before we got married, we agreed divorce wasn’t an option. From that point forward, we committed to making it work.”
Omoni highlighted the role forgiveness plays in any strong relationship. She believes couples can heal when both people choose to release past hurts. “There’s very little you can’t forgive if you truly want to. We’re all flawed,” she added.
She also looked back at the early challenges in their marriage. Nnamdi proposed just two weeks after they met, and they tied the knot four months later. The fast-paced beginning led to some turbulence, but their shared commitment helped them push through.
Omoni connected her personal journey to her latest film sequel, After a Night in July, a project she called deeply personal. “This story means a lot to me because parts of it mirror my life. Our first year was chaotic, but we chose love,” she wrote.
Through every season laughter, lessons, and growth Omoni continues to show audiences that lasting love comes from deliberate choices, deep faith, and resilience both on and off screen.
