Del B, born Ayodele Joseph Basil, is a Nigerian composer, sound engineer, record producer, and songwriter best known for producing Kcee’s 2013 Song of the Year winner ‘Limpopo.’

Born on April 22 in Kano, Nigeria, to parents with a professional background in music, Del B’s passion for the craft was inherited early. He signed a contract with Soul Muzik in 2009 as resident producer and engineer, working on Darey’s Double Dare albums, Love Like a Movie 1, and other early projects that established his technical foundation.

Del B’s breakthrough hits arrived in 2012, producing Flavour’s ‘Shake’ and ‘Sweet Tomatoes,’ alongside Kcee’s ‘Limpopo’ and ‘Pull Over.’ ‘Limpopo’ went on to win Song of the Year at the 2013 Headies, cementing Del B’s standing as one of the industry’s leading hitmakers of that period.

He went on to become a key contributor to Wizkid’s second studio album Ayo, producing the singles ‘Nobody,’ ‘Gbese,’ and ‘On Top Your Matter,’ working alongside fellow producers Sarz, Shizzi, Legendury Beatz, and Spellz on one of the most anticipated Nigerian albums of its era.

Del B’s contributions earned him a nomination for Best Producer of the Year at the 2013 Headies Awards, along with a nomination and eventual win in the same category at the 2014 Nigerian Entertainment Awards in Houston, USA, reflecting recognition both at home and within the Nigerian diaspora.
