Pheelz, born Phillip Kayode Moses on 5 June 1994, hails from Ogun State but was raised in Ojo, a local government area in Lagos State. Music has always been a part of his life, as he began his musical journey at the young age of 10, singing in church. His interest in music grew stronger over the years, and he eventually attended Ideal Comprehensive High School in Ajangbandi Afromedia.

After high school, Pheelz worked under the mentorship of I.D Cabassa at Coded Tunes—a record label that played a significant role in shaping his career. It was at Coded Tunes that he met Olamide, with whom he would go on to have a groundbreaking professional relationship.

Pheelz’s big break came in 2012 when he produced chart-topping singles such as “First of All” and “Fucking with the Devil” from Olamide’s YBNL album. His work caught the attention of industry professionals and listeners alike, earning him recognition as a top-tier producer in the Nigerian music scene.

In 2013, he was listed in NotJustOk’s “Top 10 Hottest Producers in Nigeria” and continued to build his reputation by producing all but one song on Olamide’s Baddest Guy Ever Liveth album. This solidified his place in the industry and earned him a nomination at The Headies 2013. In 2014, his name was once again in the spotlight, as he was nominated for Producer of the Year at The Headies and the Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

Pheelz’s production style made a lasting impact on popular Nigerian albums and songs. His credits include projects like M.I’s The Chairman, Runtown’s Ghetto University, and Seyi Shay’s Seyi or Shay. Additionally, in 2014, he collaborated with COPILOT Music and Sound for a cover of Carlinhos Brown’s “Maria Caipirnha” as part of Visa’s Samba of the World campaign for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

In 2020, Pheelz’s hard work and consistent quality paid off when he won the Producer of the Year award at The Headies 2020.
