Boluwatife Balogun Popularly known as champz grew up surrounded by music and creative energy as the first son of Afrobeats superstar Wizkid.
From childhood, he absorbed rhythms, melodies, and artistic influences not only from his father but from the environment around him.
Although many expected him to ride on his father’s fame, he chose to adopt a unique stage name, “Champz,” to assert his personal identity and ambition.
Career
Champz officially launched his music career with a viral freestyle teaser that stirred excitement among fans and industry watchers.
On November 11, 2025, he released his debut EP titled Champion’s Arrival a five-track project that blends Afroswing, rap, trap influences, and youthful lyrical flair.
Immediately after release, the EP shot to No. 1 on Apple Music Nigeria’s Top Albums chart, making Champz the youngest Nigerian artist ever to achieve that milestone.
Listeners praised his confident flow, lyricism, and the way he confidently asserted his presence refusing to lean solely on his father’s legacy.
Champz described the project as his announcement to the music scene an arrival that signals both readiness and a fresh direction rooted in his own creative voice.
