Early Life
Ojonimi Abraham Ejigbo, popularly known as Nimix, was born on April 4, 1989, in Agodo Bassa, Kogi State, Nigeria. He completed his primary and secondary education before attending Demonstration Secondary School in Ankpa, Kogi State, graduating in 2007. In 2015, Nimix earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Kogi State University.
Career
Nimix discovered his passion for music during his teenage years, playing keyboard and singing in his local church choir. He also participated in his secondary school’s music group. He officially launched his music career in 2013 with the release of his debut single, “Alaye.” Nimix’s music blends Afrobeat rhythms with gospel themes, creating a unique Afro gospel sound.
In 2019, Nimix released his first album, Kilimanjaro, featuring 14 tracks such as “Open Doors” and “Demoot.” The following year, he released the hit single “Hasinibu,” featuring Nigerian gospel artist Ada Ehi, which helped increase his prominence in the gospel music scene. Nimix signed with Freenation Records in 2020, further boosting his musical reach.
In December 2022, Nimix released his first EP project, Loud, which includes six tracks and features a collaboration with Malawian rapper and singer Gwamba. Nimix’s music reflects his deep spiritual faith while embracing contemporary sounds, resonating with a growing audience across Africa and beyond.
Nimix continues to make waves in the Nigerian gospel music industry by blending Afrobeat influences with heartfelt worship. His evolving sound and collaborations demonstrate his dedication to spreading positive messages through music.
