Early Life
David Obafemi, professionally known as Noon Dave, was born on May 23, 1994, in Lagos, Nigeria, and hails from Ogun State. Growing up, he immersed himself in a variety of genres including R&B, soul, and reggae, all of which helped shape his signature sound.
From a young age, Noon Dave expressed himself through music, developing a style rooted in emotion, rhythm, and lyrical depth.
Career
Noon Dave began his music career with the release of his debut single “Too Late” in 2021, marking a strong entry into the Afrobeats scene. His talent soon caught the attention of Chocolate City Music, leading to a record deal that same year. Under the label, he released “Brunch,” a song inspired by Saint Jhn-style instrumentals, which showcased his sensual and emotive style.
Although he maintained a low profile in 2022, Noon Dave continued supporting fellow artists, including live performances alongside labelmate Blaqbonez. In 2023, he returned to the spotlight with “Hillary,” a mid-tempo Afro-pop track that explores heartbreak. Produced by Ramoni, the single earned critical praise and secured spots on several editorial playlists.
