Early Life
Seyi Vibez was born in Ketu, Lagos State, and later moved to Ikorodu, where he grew up. He launched his music career in 2019 with the single “Anybody”. In 2020, he gained widespread attention after releasing “Godsent”, a track that connected with fans through its heartfelt storytelling and street influence.
In 2021, he released his debut studio album No Seyi No Vibez (NSNV). He followed up in 2022 with Billion Dollar Baby and the mixtape Billion Dollar Baby 2.0, which topped the TurnTable Albums Chart. That same year, music platform MoreBranches spotlighted him as one of 16 African artists to watch.
Career
On January 6, 2023, Seyi Vibez dropped his debut EP Memory Card, featuring five tracks, including a collaboration with American rapper YXNG K.A. The project quickly amassed over 6.3 million streams in its first week, with four songs entering the TurnTable Top 10 chart. Pan African Music named it one of January 2023’s best albums.
On February 2, 2023, he also teamed up with Zlatan on “Let There Be Light”, which debuted at number 14 on Apple Music Nigeria’s Top 100.
However, By August 2023, Seyi Vibez had released the track “Jajoo” and featured on a song with Kizz Daniel. That month, Cardtonic appointed him as a brand ambassador, recognizing his growing influence in both Nigeria and Ghana.
At the 16th Headies Awards in September 2023, he won Best Street-Hop Artiste for his track “Chance (Na Ham)”, further affirming his street credibility and mainstream appeal.
In January 2024, Seyi Vibez shared advice he received from Burna Boy: “Show no sign of weakness. Keep moving.” He embraced this mindset as a guiding principle for his journey.
Later, In April 2024, he collaborated with emerging artist Muyeez on the song Instagram. The track quickly soared to the top of Apple Music Nigeria’s chart within 24 hours of release.
Most recently, On May 16, 2024, Seyi Vibez earned a nomination for the BET Awards in the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act category — a significant milestone in his rapidly evolving career.
