Early Life
Victor Ufuoma Thompson was born on November 11, 1986, in Lagos State, Nigeria, and traces his roots to Okpara-Inland in Delta State. He attended St. Anthony Nursery and Primary School before moving to Caleb International School for further primary education. He completed his secondary studies at Government College, Ikorodu, Lagos. Victor earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science from the Federal University of Petroleum Resources in Effurun, Delta State.
Career
Victor started singing at a young age, nurturing his passion for music early on. In 2017, he showcased his talent as a contestant on the second season of The Voice Nigeria. He officially entered the music scene in November 2018 with his debut single Miyeruwe.
In January 2023, Victor released the inspiring track This Year (Blessings) featuring Ehis D’Greatest. The single gained significant international recognition, reaching number 35 on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats chart and peaking at number 14 on the UK Official Charts.
His growing influence in gospel music earned him a nomination in July 2023 for Best Inspirational Single at the 16th Headies Awards, competing alongside renowned artists like Davido, Neon Adejo, and Nathaniel Bassey.
Victor Thompson continues to rise as a prominent voice in Nigerian gospel music, delivering songs that inspire and resonate globally.
