Renowned Nigerian singer Busola Oke, popularly known as Eleyele, has publicly appealed for help amid extreme financial hardship and homelessness. In a recent interview on the Talk to B Podcast, she disclosed that she is currently struggling with severe mental health challenges following a viral video that drew widespread concern.
Busola Oke revealed that her financial crisis began in 2020 and has worsened, leaving her unable to afford basic necessities or stable housing. She admitted that the viral clip was a desperate attempt to seek emotional and physical support.
“I did that video because I was hungry. I don’t have food to eat. I’m owing a lot of debt. I don’t know what can happen to me tomorrow. I want to be free because I don’t owe any debt when I die. I’m heavily burdened.”
Speaking about her living situation, the singer explained that her rent expired and she has been without a home.
“I did that video to communicate with my fans because I was depressed. I just needed somebody saying I love you. My rent ran out, I couldn’t pay. I actually pray to God sometimes back to take my life if he doesn’t want to sustain me. Since 2020, I have gone through a lot of things that are difficult for me to share with people. I don’t have a house to sleep in. I have been sleeping in different places.”
Despite her struggles, Oke acknowledged her manager’s unwavering support during this difficult period.
“My manager really tried for me. I have never seen someone like that before. He stood by me.”
The singer remains in a state of distress, emphasizing her need for peace and a resolution to the mounting debts that have left her unable to sustain herself.
