Afrobeats artist Babatunde Rahim, popularly known as Lyta, has expressed frustration with his fans for not streaming his music.
The former YBNL signee, who has recently fallen on hard times, revealed that he might stop releasing new songs unless there is a significant increase in streams of his existing tracks.
In an emotional Instagram Live session, Lyta shared that he is struggling financially and is in desperate need of support from his fans. “I can create more great music, but if you don’t stream my songs, I won’t release another one,” he said. “I’m running low on funds and I really need your help. Look at how I’m looking – I’ve lost so much weight. I just want to enjoy a bit of the money you can help me make from streaming my music.”
Lyta rose to fame in 2018 after joining Olamide’s YBNL Nation, but parted ways with the label in May 2019 due to differences with the label’s owner. Since then, the artist has openly sought to reconcile with Olamide, asking to be re-signed to YBNL, but his requests have been unsuccessful.
Despite his struggles, Lyta remains passionate about making music and continues to hope for better support from his fans.
