Jamaican producer Rvssian has released the new single “PONGO” featuring Puerto Rican reggaeton star Rauw Alejandro and Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Wizkid. The track dropped on March 19, 2026, via Sony Music Entertainment US Latin LLC and Head Concussion Records.
The song is a vibrant cross-cultural jam that fuses reggaeton rhythms with Afrobeats energy. As a result, it delivers a sound that feels global and refreshing. The Spanish title “Pongo,” derived from the verb “poner,” means “I put” or “I place.”
Through this collaboration, Wizkid switches things up by incorporating Spanish elements. At the same time, he shows a more mature and globally adaptive side.
The official music video dropped alongside the track. It features all three artists performing inside a large vintage house filled with warm golden hues. Meanwhile, dancers move around them, blending reggaeton’s sensual style with Afrobeats’ energetic rhythm.
Rvssian, who has previously worked with Rauw Alejandro on hits like “Santa,” described the project in a press release:
“I’m a curator who enjoys bringing artists together and unifying different genres.”
This release marks Wizkid’s first collaboration with both Rvssian and Rauw Alejandro. Interestingly, the link-up had been described as the industry’s worst-kept secret for months before its official release.
Early streaming numbers show strong performance. The song recorded 1,034,111 global streams on Spotify in its first full day. It also debuted at No. 16 on the Spotify Nigeria Daily Top Songs chart with 130,370 streams. In addition, it reached No. 4 on the U.S. Latin iTunes chart and charted in Spain, Costa Rica, and Panama.
“PONGO” continues Rvssian’s focus on global crossover sounds. At the same time, it gives Wizkid a fresh platform to shine within a reggaeton-infused sound.
The track and its official video are now available on all major streaming platforms.
