Nigerian singer and songwriter Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, reacted to the viral video showing Comfort Emmanson being forcibly removed from an Ibom Air flight. The incident happened during a scheduled flight from Uyo to Lagos and quickly escalated after Emmanson refused to switch off her phone despite repeated instructions from the flight crew.

Another passenger turned off Emmanson’s phone, which sparked a confrontation. After landing, tensions escalated further when Emmanson attacked the flight purser she pulled off the purser’s wig, damaged her glasses, and tried to use a fire extinguisher as a weapon.
Airport security restrained Emmanson, took her into custody, and the court arraigned and remanded her at Kirikiri Correctional Centre. Ibom Air responded by banning her from flying with them for life.
As the video circulated widely on social media, exposing Emmanson’s bare chest without any censorship, Simi raised concerns about the ethics of sharing such footage. She questioned why no one held accountable the person who filmed and posted the uncensored video online.
Simi pointed out that while Emmanson will face legal consequences, those who violate her privacy by sharing the footage should also face punishment. She stressed that condemning one wrongdoing while ignoring another only deepens injustice.
