TikTok has released its Global Year in Music 2025 rankings, spotlighting the 20 songs that shaped global culture on the platform. The list reflects TikTok’s powerful role in music discovery, driven by viral challenges, emotional clips, and global creator engagement.
This year’s ranking shows strong influence from Afrobeats, Dancehall, and Caribbean-inspired sounds. Cross-cultural collaborations continue to dominate the platform, proving that users from different regions now co-create global hits through trends and storytelling videos.
One of the biggest surprises on the list is the number-one song. Connie Francis’ 1962 classic Pretty Little Baby claimed the top spot. The track’s resurgence highlights TikTok’s unique ability to revive old records and introduce them to a new generation.
Among modern releases, Shake It To The Max (FLY) Remix by Moliy, Silent Addy, Skillibeng, and Shenseea ranked just outside the top ten. Its Ghanaian–Jamaican fusion made it a major viral force, supported by dance challenges and high-energy edits. Nigerian rising star Chella also entered the global list with My Darling, celebrated for its emotional storytelling and inspirational appeal.
The 2025 rankings reinforce TikTok as one of the world’s biggest music engines. It elevates emerging artists, revives classics, and pushes diverse sounds into the global mainstream.
