Bella Shmurda is known for trusting his instincts, and his latest story shows how powerful that can be. The singer shared how he once received a clear sign in a dream telling him to release a street-inspired song. But instead of following that sign immediately, he decided to test the waters with a different track.
He poured effort and resources into the wrong song, spending as much as $40,000 on promotion. Unfortunately, the result was disappointing. The song failed to make a major impact. That experience pushed him to return to what he originally saw in the dream.
He finally released the street song he had envisioned, this time with a much smaller budget of less than ₦20 million. To his surprise, the song quickly shot to number two in the country. “The song didn’t go well, even after 40K USD spent on promotion, and then I dropped an actual street song, then I didn’t even spend up to 20 million, and the song went to NO. 2 in the country,” he said.
Bella is also making moves as a label boss. His record label, Dangbana Republic, is home to Fola, a promising artist who has worked closely with him for years. According to Bella, Fola plays an important role in his creative journey. “Fola is a supportive system for Bella Shmurda. I’ve a weakness but Fola joining me, complemented my weakness. He has been with me for years even before I signed him. Fola complements Bella Shmurda,” he added.
