Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, widely known as Blaqbonez, has shared his unconventional stance on marriage, stating he is open to the idea of an open relationship. Speaking during a recent podcast appearance, he emphasized that sexual exclusivity isn’t a priority for him in a long-term commitment.

Blaqbonez explained that many couples struggle with declining intimacy as time passes, often due to the monotony of sticking to one partner. He believes that allowing sexual freedom could actually help preserve the emotional core of a relationship.

“I don’t mind having an open marriage,” he said. “Most married couples don’t maintain the same level of intimacy they had in the beginning it usually reduces. If someone else satisfies my partner sexually while I’m busy touring or working, I’m okay with that. There’s more to marriage than sex.”

He added that emotional connection, loyalty, and shared history matter more than physical exclusivity. “It would be hard for a random person to match the emotional bond I have with her. They probably can’t make her laugh like I do,” he said.

The rapper also noted that if he ever chooses to marry, he’d prefer having separate rooms. “We’ll meet only when we want intimacy,” he added, highlighting his desire for personal space even within marriage.

Blaqbonez’s candid perspective challenges traditional ideas about marriage and intimacy. His openness to alternative relationship structures reflects a broader conversation among younger generations questioning long-held norms.
