Socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chiefpriest, has claimed that external forces are attempting to “break” Afrobeats star Davido following his loss at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.

The statement was issued on 4 months ago, after Davido’s song “With You,” featuring Omah Lay, lost the Best African Music Performance category to South African singer Tyla’s “Push 2 Start.”

In a reaction shared on social media, Cubana Chiefpriest alleged that the outcome was connected to Davido’s refusal to accept undisclosed Western offers.

“Oyibo Dey Do Everything Possible To Break A Strong Man So He Can Do Their Demonic Sht With Them But He Will Never Do It,” Okechukwu stated.

He encouraged the singer to remain independent and continue releasing music.

“Heads Up Brother, Open The Bag & Drop Another Hot One For Us. E No Dey Finish, Gbedu Na Water.”

The category also featured Nigerian nominees Burna Boy and Ayra Starr. Tyla emerged as a repeat winner, having previously secured the inaugural award in 2024. Despite the loss, Davido’s associates have framed the outcome as a sign of his resilience and staying power.

Cubana Chiefpriest’s remarks suggested systemic bias, though the Recording Academy has not responded to these claims. Davido, who performed at the official Grammy House ahead of the ceremony, has not issued a formal statement regarding the allegations.

However, Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. previously described the 2026 honorees as “an extraordinary group whose influence spans generations.” For Davido’s camp, the focus remains on future releases, with Cubana Chiefpriest concluding his message by urging the singer to “drop another hot one” for his global audience.
