Nigerian gospel singer Dunsin Oyekan has reflected on his journey of healing and faith, six years after the passing of his wife, Adedoyin Oyekan. She died on May 18, 2019, leaving behind her husband and their two children. While the family has chosen to keep the details of her death private, her loss had a powerful impact on Dunsin’s life.

In a touching Instagram post, Dunsin shared how he has managed the pain through worship and trust in God. “Most people wondered how I survived. I didn’t numb the pain, I channeled it! I found closure in the Presence of God, understood from God’s perspective, accepted His sovereignty and found joy in His presence!” he wrote.

He added, “That’s the path of Life… 6 years after, with tears of joy, all I still have to say is GOD IS GOOD!” His words offer a message of hope and strength for anyone walking through grief.

Dunsin and Adedoyin were married in February 2013. They built a family together and had two children before her untimely passing. Despite his personal loss, Dunsin has remained committed to his music ministry and spiritual calling.

He began his musical journey at the age of 10, learning to sing and play the guitar. Over time, he has grown into one of Nigeria’s most respected gospel artistes. He also served as the music director for the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) choir.

His albums include Kingdom Now (2019), The Gospel of the Kingdom (2021), The Glory Experience (2022), and most recently, The Great Commission (2024).

Dunsin Oyekan continues to inspire through his music and life story, showing that even through pain, healing and purpose can still be found in God.
