Veteran Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has forcefully rejected widespread rumours claiming that the Nigerian police arrested her. She addressed the issue during a TikTok live session, where she expressed deep frustration over the circulating story. Iyabo described the rumour as fake, intentionally misleading, and created solely to cause panic among her supporters.
Furthermore, she directly confronted those spreading the misinformation, accusing them of crafting false reports to generate online traffic. According to her, their actions not only mislead the public but also inflict unnecessary emotional distress on her fans. She emphasized that each time such rumours surface, her loved ones immediately try to reach her, fearing the worst.
In a fiery response, Iyabo warned the creators of the fake story that negativity directed at her would ultimately return to them. She insisted that she is spiritually protected and that anyone wishing her harm would face the consequences of their actions.
Meanwhile, the rumour emerged amid her ongoing legal battle with VeryDarkMan, who currently faces re-arraignment for cyberbullying allegations involving Iyabo, Tonto Dikeh, and others. She accused him of consistently fabricating stories to attract attention and manipulate public perception.
Additionally, Iyabo addressed claims linking her to a supposed secret WhatsApp group formed after singer Mohbad’s death. She clarified that the group aimed to seek justice for the late musician by pushing for investigations, a proper autopsy, and a befitting burial. She stressed that the group’s intentions were open and transparent.
Throughout her explanation, Iyabo reiterated that her involvement in legal petitions has always been as a witness, never as an instigator of criminal actions.
