Fuji icon K1 de Ultimate is at the center of a serious controversy following an incident at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. According to the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), the musician will not be allowed to fly within the country for the next six months after a breach of airport safety rules.
The NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs, Michael Achimugu, made this known during a press briefing, assuring that no one would be spared from facing the consequences. “As we speak, the passenger is going to be blacklisted for the next six months flying in Nigeria,” he said.

Things escalated on Monday, August 5, when K1 reportedly refused screening and attempted to carry a flask with liquid beyond the allowed limit onto a ValueJet flight to Lagos. FAAN confirmed the item contained alcohol and that it was spilled on a security officer during the tense exchange.
Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo has backed the move to place the singer on a no-fly list. He also warned that no individual is above aviation safety rules, describing the musician’s action as “akin to a hostage situation.” He said, “He constantly moved his position on the tarmac to actually block the aircraft… This is totally unacceptable behaviour.”
K1 de Ultimate, through his media team, denied the claims and said the flask contained water. He added that he acted with respect and never endangered anyone. His team also said some airport officials later apologised and offered him a private jet to Lagos.
While investigations continue, the case has sparked national attention, raising questions about celebrity conduct and the enforcement of aviation rules.
