Actor and activist Debo Adebayo, widely known as Mr Macaroni, has openly criticized NIDCOM Chairperson Abike Dabiri-Erewa for her reaction to the recent airport controversy involving popular Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde, also known as KWAM1.

The incident occurred at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, where KWAM1 reportedly clashed with ValueJet staff after being denied entry on a flight due to a flask allegedly containing alcohol. In the chaos, the aircraft’s pilot, Captain Ranti Ogoyi, accused the singer of spilling the flask’s contents on her. KWAM1 then stood in front of the plane, attempting to block its departure—a move that almost resulted in him being hit by the aircraft as it taxied.
Following public backlash, KWAM1 issued a public apology addressed to President Bola Tinubu, the pilot, his supporters, and others affected. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, a known associate of the singer, posted a video of his apology on social media with the caption, “To err is human,” sparking outrage among Nigerians who viewed the comment as dismissive.
Mr Macaroni took to social media to condemn her response, accusing her of endorsing a culture of impunity. He argued that her position seemed to imply that public figures could act recklessly and escape accountability with a mere apology. According to him, such a mindset is dangerous and unfit for someone in public office.
Mr Macaroni’s criticism highlights a broader concern about accountability in Nigeria. His comments reflect public frustration over how influence often shields misconduct.
