Early Life
Abimbola Akintola was born on May 5, 1970, to a father from Oyo State and a mother from Edo State, Nigeria. She grew up in Maryland, Lagos, as the third child in a family of six. From an early age, her mother encouraged her love for acting, especially through her involvement in school plays during end-of-year events. As she participated more, performing became second nature to her.
She attended Maryland Convent Private School for her primary education and later studied at Command Day Secondary School, both in Lagos. She earned a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Ibadan. While still a student, she performed every weekend at a club called Divine on Allen Avenue in Lagos, alongside the late Jaiye Aboderin.

She followed this up with a notable role in Out of Bounds in 1997, featuring Richard Mofe Damijo. Her performance in various roles earned her recognition across the industry.
