Early Life
Charles Inojie comes from a royal family. He grew up living with his grandmother and has little memory of his mother, as he was sent to stay elsewhere to keep his aging grandmother company. Initially, Charles aspired to become a lawyer, but after attending Bode Osoyinโs Writers Resort, he changed his mind.
There, he pursued and completed a certificate course in dramatic arts in 1993. Charles later graduated from the University of Port Harcourt in 1999, further strengthening his foundation in the performing arts.
Career
Driven by his passion for acting, Charles joined several drama and theatre clubs in his community and actively performed stage plays.
He deepened his skills by enrolling in a one-year acting program at Bode Osoyinโs Writers Resort, where he earned a certificate in dramatic arts.
After finishing university, he moved to Lagos State and worked as an assistant director at Lancelot Oduwa Imasuenโs production company.
Gradually, Charles gained fame for his comedic roles in Nigerian films. In 2016, the Screen Writers Guild of Nigeria (SWGN) elected him president, acknowledging his leadership in the industry.
Charles Inojie is married and a father of two children.
