Early Life
Chioma Chukwuka was born in Lagos State on March 12, 1980. She is originally from Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, in southeastern Nigeria. She began her education at Onward Nursery and Primary School in Lagos and continued her secondary education at Federal Government Girls College in Onitsha, Anambra State. She later attended Lagos State University, where she studied Banking and Finance.
Career
Chioma launched her acting career in 2000 with her debut in the film The Apple. That same year, she appeared in The Handkerchief. Her performance in Sins of the Flesh earned her the Best Actress award at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2007. She received another nomination in 2014 for her role in the movie Accident.
Over the course of her career, Chioma has appeared in over 350 Nollywood films. She has also produced or co-produced more than eight films, including the critically acclaimed On Bended Knees. In addition to acting and producing, she actively mentors young talents and shares her expertise as a public speaker.
In January 2019, Chioma Chukwuka launched Masterclass With Chioma, a training platform aimed at nurturing aspiring talents in the film, television, and theatre industries. Chioma has also represented several major brands in Nigeria.
Chioma Chukwuka married Franklyn Akpotha in 2006, and the couple has three children. Despite her public career, she has maintained a private family life.
