Early Life
Jemima Osunde, born on April 30, 1996, hails from Edo State, Nigeria. She grew up in a close-knit family as the youngest child and only daughter, raised alongside her elder brothers.
She attended Air Force Primary School before moving on to Holy Child College for her secondary education. With a passion for healthcare, she pursued a degree in physiotherapy at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos. She graduated in 2019 and completed the National Youth Service Corps program shortly after.
Career
Her journey into acting began in 2014 when her uncle encouraged her to explore the world of film. That push led her to her debut in Jungle Jewel, marking the start of a promising career.
Jemima Osunde made her mark in Nollywood when she took on the role of Leila in MTVโs Shuga, gaining national recognition. After a brief break during the show’s South African transition, she returned for its Nigerian reboot in the sixth season. She also featured prominently in Shuga Alone Together, filmed remotely during the COVID-19 lockdown.
In 2018, she impressed audiences in The Delivery Boy, earning a nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards. That same year, she starred in Rumour Has It alongside Linda Ejiofor.
In 2020, she joined the cast of Quamโs Money, the sequel to New Money, playing a key role in the story of an ordinary man turned millionaire. In 2023, she co-founded the beauty brand Sanaa Beauty with fellow actress Adesua Etomi, expanding her influence beyond entertainment.
