Early Life

Born on October 18 1988 in Gboko, Benue State, Kunle Remi grew up in Ibadan after his family relocated. During his teenage years, he developed a passion for acting and served as a youth drama teacher.

He pursued a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Management at the University of Ibadan and later studied Tourism and Hospitality Management at Sheffield University. He then moved to New York City, where he studied acting, filmmaking, and directing at the New York Film Academy, graduating in 2014. He returned in 2015 to complete additional studies in directing and filmmaking.

Career

Kunle Remi began his professional acting career in 2011, shortly after winning Gulder Ultimate Search in 2010. In 2012, he secured his first film role in Heavy Beauty, a project produced by Grace Edwin Okon and directed by Stanlee Ohikhuare. By 2014, he expanded his repertoire, performing stunts in Kpains: The Feast of Souls and taking roles in short films like Sister’s Keeper, Sting, and Hex.

He gained notable attention for his performance as Oliseh in The Getaway and continued to appear in films such as Out of Luck, Deluded, and Mrs. & Mrs. Johnson. His breakthrough came with Falling, where he portrayed a man in a coma following a tragic accident—this role marked his emergence as a significant talent in Nollywood.

Remi developed a diverse career by starring in acclaimed films including Aníkúlápó, Gold Statue, Falling, and A Naija Christmas. He trained at the New York Film Academy, where he honed his skills in acting and filmmaking. In addition to film, he hosted major events such as the Academy Awards nominations and WIMBIZ Africa, demonstrating his range beyond the screen.

He also modeled for leading brands and co-produced several projects, cementing his reputation as a versatile and dynamic force in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
