Early Life
Tomi Ojo was born on January 1, 2000, in Lagos, Nigeria. She grew up in a middle-class household on the mainland and comes from a Christian Yoruba family. Raised in a supportive environment, she developed strong values and a creative spirit. She completed her primary and secondary education in Lagos before earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of Lagos.
Career
Tomi discovered her passion for acting in her late teens. She began studying performance by watching YouTube videos and attending auditions. In 2018, she made her acting debut in Back to School, a YouTube comedy series by comedian Bovi. This early opportunity helped her build experience and confidence.
She joined a theatre club to improve her skills and kept auditioning for short films. Eventually, she landed more substantial roles, and her breakout moment came with the Netflix series Far From Home, where she portrayed Rahila Bello. This role brought her into the spotlight and earned her widespread recognition.
Tomi further gained acclaim in the Ndani TV web series Love Like This. Since then, she has featured in numerous projects, including Best Friendโs, The Crazy Wife, Sack Letter, Now, Always and Forever, Schooled, Leaked, and Ebi. Her performances consistently show depth and range across drama, romance, and comedy.
She has collaborated with top Nollywood stars such as Richard Mofe-Damijo, Bimbo Akintola, Funke Akindele, Mike Afolarin, Genoveva Umeh, and Olumide Oworu, among others.
In addition to acting, Tomi works as a commercial model and is signed to a modeling agency in Lagos. She has participated in campaigns and worked with creative directors and cinematographers on various projects.
