Early Life

Uche Jombo is a graduate of Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. She also holds a degree in Computer Programming from the Federal University of Technology Minna. Despite her academic background, Uche found her calling in the entertainment industry, where she has made a significant impact.

Career

Uche Jombo entered the Nigerian movie industry in 1999, debuting in the film Visa to Hell. Over the years, she has become one of Nollywoodโ€™s most versatile actresses, appearing in over 250 films, including notable titles such as Girls Hostel, Fire Love, Endless Lies, and Nollywood Hustlers. Uche is also a talented screenwriter, having written and co-written films like The Celebrity, Games Men Play, Girls in the Hood, and A Time to Love.

As a producer, Uche has worked on several successful projects, including Nollywood Hustlers, Holding Hope, and Damage, the latter addressing domestic violence. She also starred in Heaven on My Mind, Onyegwu, and the Dr. Love series produced by Rok Studios. Ucheโ€™s work earned her recognition as an ambassador for Globacom.

In 2008, she launched her production company, Uche Jombo Productions, and began executive producing her films. In 2015, she ventured into directing with Lost in Us, How I Saved My Marriage, and the true-life drama Heaven on My Mind.

Uche Jombo is also dedicated to giving back to the community through her non-governmental organization, Uche Jombo and You, which supports Nigerian youth. She married Kenny Rodriguez in 2012 and began her directing career after the birth of her son, Matthew.
