Early Life
Uzoamaka Cynthia Ginikachukwu Onuoha is a Nigerian actress celebrated for her work across film, television, and stage. Born on April 25, 1996, in Lagos State, she comes from Awo-Idemili in the Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State. Uzoamaka pursued her passion for the arts academically by studying Theatre and Film Studies at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where she graduated with a second-class upper degree.
In 2021, she enhanced her craft by training in screen acting at the EbonyLife Creative Academy under the guidance of South African director Drikus Volschenk.
Career
Uzoamaka Onuohaโs love for acting emerged early in life, leading her to perform in various stage productions such as Emotan by William Benson, Folly of Men by Joshua Alabi, and Chapters by Maduegbuna Productions. She gained widespread recognition for her lead role in Diiche, Showmaxโs first Nigerian original limited series, which received seven Africa Magic Viewersโ Choice Awards (AMVCA) nominations in 2023.
Her versatility shines through in multiple roles, including her lead in Moment and her impactful performance as Nkechi in the Igbo short film Swimming in a Sea of Trauma. Uzoamaka also made significant impressions in the web series Schooled and played Kimberly in Visa On Arrival.
Her filmography includes notable works such as Inside Life, If I Am President, Blood Sisters, Omugwo, Stories by Her, Ordinary Fellows, Country Love, and A Sunday Affair. She further showcased her talent in King of Boys: The Return of the King, produced by Kemi Adetiba.
