His journey into music began in 2005 during his teenage years. He grew up surrounded by music as a member of “Titibiti,” the band led by his father, the legendary Nigerian musician Victor Uwaifo. This early exposure shaped his passion for music and laid the foundation for his future in the industry.
Andre Vibez gained widespread recognition for producing the hit song “Rush” by Ayra Starr, featured on her 19 & Dangerous album. He also played a key role in the success of Rema’s global smash “Calm Down,” which topped the India IMI International chart and reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 following its remix with Selena Gomez.
In September 2022, Andre Vibez reached another major milestone when he joined the roster of music producers signed to Mavin Records, one of Nigeria’s most influential record labels. Known for his innovative sound and consistent hits, he continues to shape the sound of contemporary Afrobeat on both local and international stages.
Career
Andre Vibez is the son of legendary Nigerian highlife musician Sir Victor Uwaifo, who earned the distinction of receiving Africa’s first gold disc award. Influenced by his father’s musical legacy, Vibez began his journey into music production in 2005, initially working as a keyboardist in his father’s band. His professional career as a producer took off in 2012 with the release of Selensele by Leroy, marking his official entry into the Nigerian music scene.
In 2021, Andre Vibez gained widespread acclaim after producing Feeling, a massive hit by Ladipoe featuring Bnxn (formerly known as Buju). That same year, he co-produced Calm Down, one of Rema’s biggest international singles, alongside fellow producer London. The track became a global sensation, further amplified by the success of its remix featuring American pop star Selena Gomez.
Andre Vibez’s success continued to grow, and in October 2022, he joined Mavin Records, the renowned Nigerian label founded by Don Jazzy. The following month, he produced the label’s all-star single Won Da Mo, which featured a powerhouse lineup including Rema, Ayra Starr, Magixx, Ladipoe, Crayon, Johnny Drille, Boy Spyce, Bayanni, and Don Jazzy himself.
With his signature sound and consistent delivery of chart-topping hits, Andre Vibez has solidified his place among Nigeria’s most in-demand music producers.
