Chibuike Benjamin Nnonah, professionally known as Benjamz, was born on September 22, 1994, in Enugu State, Nigeria. A proud native of Agbani in Nkanu West, he pursued a degree in Industrial Physics at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology.

Growing up in Enugu, Benjamz developed a strong passion for music early on. He honed his skills in beat-making and production, gradually rising through the ranks of Nigeria’s vibrant music scene. His deep-rooted understanding of sound and rhythm soon gained the attention of some of the industry’s biggest names.

Career

Benjamz made a significant impact when he produced six tracks from Phyno’s critically acclaimed album The Playmaker. However, his most notable contribution came when he co-produced Burna Boy’s Grammy-nominated album African Giant, collaborating with Kel-P. He also produced standout tracks like “Gum Body” featuring Jorja Smith and “Stfu” off Dremo’s Codename Vol. 2.

Benjamz officially broke into the mainstream in 2016 with the production of “Pino Pino” by Phyno. The success of the track solidified his status as one of Nigeria’s rising production talents. In 2017, The Beatz Awards nominated him in the New Discovery Producer category.

Since then, Benjamz has continued to expand his discography, contributing to top-charting projects like Old Romance by Tekno, Codename Vol. 2 by Dremo, and Deal With It by Phyno. His Grammy recognition for African Giant placed him among Nigeria’s elite music producers.
