Early Life
Marcel Larry Akunwata, professionally known as Blaisebeatz or Blaise Beats, is a Nigerian record producer and songwriter. He gained widespread attention in 2020 with the release of the hit single Pami by DJ Tunez. His unique sound and versatile production style led to further success with major tracks like Enjoy by Tekno, Sinner, It Is What It Is, and Mercy by Adekunle Gold, Call Me Every Day by Chris Brown, Buga by Kizz Daniel, and No Wahala by 1da Banton. In 2022, he was recognized at The Beatz Awards, taking home titles for Afro Highlife Producer of the Year and Afro Dancehall Producer of the Year.
Career and Achievements
Marcel hails from Anambra State and spent his early years in Niger State, where he completed his primary and secondary education. He later earned a degree in statistics from the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
His journey into music began in 2004, playing instruments in church before joining a live band. By 2006, he transitioned into music production, originally using the name Larryblaise before rebranding to Blaisebeatz. In 2016, he began to gain recognition with productions like I Miss Good Music by Jumabee and Nkechi by Attitude.
Blaisebeatz has since produced a wide range of hit songs, including Suru by Tekno, Omaema by Skiibii, Nyamba by Irene Ntale, My Darlina by King Perryy, Fa’ya by Ceeza Milli, Kill Man by Terri, Okay by Adekunle Gold, Need More by Reekado Banks, Quarantine by Alpha P, In My Mind by BNXN, So Bad by Simi, and Cough (Odo) by Kizz Daniel.
