Early Life

Otaniyen-Uwa Daniel, professionally known as Killertunes, has emerged as a leading force in the Nigerian music industry.

Born on June 22, 1994, in Benin City, Edo State, Killertunes developed an interest in music production during his teenage years.

He relocated to Lagos in 2015 to pursue his passion, where he connected with DJ Spinall and subsequently signed to The Cap Music. His breakthrough came with the production of “I Concur” for Timaya, which significantly boosted his career.

He also produced some of the most impactful tracks in the Nigerian music scene, including “Manya” by Wizkid, “Motigbana” by Olamide, “Baba” by DJ Spinall featuring Kizz Daniel, and “Bobo” by Mayorkun featuring Davido.

Career

In 2019, Killertunes took home the Headies Award for Producer of the Year for his work on “Fake Love” by Duncan Mighty and Wizkid. His influence continued to grow, earning him a nomination for Afro Hip-Hop Producer Of The Year at the Beatz Awards 2022, thanks to his vibrant production on “Big Energy” by Ladipoe.

Beyond that, he’s earned nominations for Producer of the Year at the Nigeria Entertainments Awards,City People Music awards, and even a Best Music nomination at the Top Naija Music awards—proof of his consistent impact across the industry.

In 2019, Killertunes stepped further into the spotlight with the release of his debut EP titled “Gbedu & Things”, showcasing his production artistry over five tracks. He collaborated with DJ Tunez on the project, further pushing the boundaries of sound and creativity.

In 2020, industry insiders and fans alike recognized Killertunes as one of Nigeria’s top beatmakers, cementing his place among the elite.
