Ozedikus, born Igbinoba Osaze, is a Nigerian record producer and the in-house hitmaker for Mavin Records, best known for crafting the beat behind Rema’s breakout single ‘Dumebi.’

Born in Benin City, Edo State, Ozedikus was raised partly by his grandparents before moving to Lagos to live with his father as a child. His father encouraged him to take piano lessons, and by his teenage years he was playing for churches and marching bands, developing the musical foundation that would later shape his production style. He initially trained and worked as a graphic designer before financial realities pushed him toward music production around 2014.

Working out of a DIY studio in Lagos’s Ojo area called Much More Studio, Ozedikus formed a creative alliance with a young Crayon, a friendship that would prove pivotal. Through Crayon’s connection to Mavin Records, Ozedikus met Rema, and the pair produced ‘Dumebi’ in 2019, a beat that had reportedly been rejected several times before it became one of the defining Afrobeats records of that year.

Ozedikus has since built a catalogue of more than 60 production credits, working with Rema on records including ‘Corny’ and ‘Iron Man,’ as well as with Oxlade, Ladipoe, Crayon, Bad Boy Timz, and Dr Sid. His tag, delivered in a distinct Eastern Nigerian cadence, has become a signature opener across a run of hits including Oxlade’s ‘Ku Lo Sa.’

Despite his commercial success, Ozedikus has spoken about staying grounded, describing awards as based on the judgement of others rather than a true measure of talent, and continuing to focus on versatility and craft as an in-house producer within one of Nigeria’s biggest music powerhouses.
