American rapper Rick Ross has announced a new collaborative project titled Rick Ross African Experience. He shared the news during an interview on African Voices CNN.
Ross said the project will connect American hip-hop with Africa’s fast-growing music scene. He described the current wave as a major cultural moment for the continent.
The album will feature top African artists. It will highlight the region’s global influence and creative strength. Ross praised the level of talent he has seen during his visits.
“The talent coming out of the continent is setting the pace for the entire world. I want to shine a light on the incredible production and vocal talent I’ve seen.”
He also shared his dream collaboration lineup. The list includes both modern stars and legendary icons.
“Let’s say if I had a dream collaboration right now, it’d be Ricky Rozay, Bob Marley, Fela Kuti, and Burna Boy.”
Ross described this idea as “king-level” and “next level” music. He also revealed his interest in working with Sade Adu.
“I love, I love Sade. Salute queen, salute queen. We’ll put that on the wishlist.”
Beyond music, Ross reflected on his travels across Africa. He mentioned cities like Lagos and Accra as inspiring spaces for creativity and culture.
“Ghana hits differently. Every Black American should make the trip. The peace and fun is unmatched. It’s soul-filling energy.”
The African Experience project will focus on quality production and cultural exchange. Although no release date has been announced, Ross said the project is a long-term investment in Africa’s future stars.
