Sophia Momodu has spoken out to correct what she says are misleading stories about her daughter, Imade, and her co-parenting situation with Davido. She explained that she woke up to online posts that tried to paint the wrong picture of her child’s wellbeing. She said the posts were hurtful, but she chose to stay calm and speak clearly for her daughter. “Social media has become an integral part of our lives, and unfortunately, it has also become a platform for spreading false narratives… I woke up to numerous posts that were intentionally targeted at my lovely daughter and tried to portray a false image of her well-being,” she said.
She shared that Imade is doing well, growing happily, and surrounded by love. She also noted that anyone who has ever met her child knows this already. “It’s important to note that my daughter is a happy, healthy, and well-rounded child. Anyone who has met her in person can attest to this,” she added.
Sophia Momodu then talked about childcare responsibilities. She explained that she has covered almost every cost for years, while Davido’s father has paid Imade’s school fees. She made it clear that Davido has not provided child support. “I have handled all of her expenses except for school fees… I have not received child support from her father, but our child knows no lack,” she stated.
She also revealed that she has now surrendered all past and future child support claims. She says the choice feels right for her and for her daughter. “I recently waived all outstanding child support payments and relinquished future claims,” she said.
Sophia ended her message by asking the public to stop dragging her child into online arguments and harmful narratives. “Moving forward, I kindly request that my innocent child be left out of false narratives and stories,” she said.
