Nigerian actor Taye Arimoro has filed a lawsuit against fellow actress Peggy Ovire, claiming she and her team assaulted him during a film shoot. The incident reportedly took place on a movie set, where Arimoro alleges Ovire instructed her driver to block his car, preventing him from leaving. He also claims the attackers deflated his car’s tires.
Arimoro shared that the altercation left him with visible injuries, including a fractured jaw, bite marks, and bruises. In a letter dated November 18, 2025, from Inibehe Effiong Chambers, his lawyers stated that the production manager also blocked his vehicle, while another car obstructed his exit. Fearing for his safety, Arimoro broadcasted the event via Instagram Live.
According to his legal team, Peggy Ovire attempted to erase evidence from his phone. They further claimed that the assault violated Arimoro’s rights to personal liberty, movement, and dignity, and caused him emotional distress, psychological trauma, and financial losses.
Arimoro is demanding a public apology on all of Ovire’s platforms and ₦100 million in compensation. His lawyers have given the actress a seven-day deadline to respond, warning that failure to do so will prompt immediate legal action.
Videos and images circulating online reportedly show Ovire preparing to confront Arimoro, contradicting her earlier claims about the incident. Arimoro uploaded photographs of the legal filings to Instagram to highlight the seriousness of the case and request public support.
