The Nigerian music scene has been thrown into fresh controversy after Tufab, an associate of Wizkid, publicly accused Davido of threatening him in a series of messages.
The drama unfolded on Wednesday when Tufab took to X (formerly Twitter) to share screenshots of the alleged exchange with Davido. In the viral messages, Davido reportedly warned Tufab over claims that he called him “Osakpolo,” a name the singer said he did not like.
“My name is not Osakpolo I’m warning u. Ok continue. That’s all I will say. I Dey warn u. Wetin wan happen. U be bird I be aye, make we play d game,” Davido allegedly wrote.
Reacting to the messages, Tufab denied ever calling Davido the name in question and distanced himself from any cult or fraternity.
“But I didn’t even call u that. And please stop warning me bro. Abeg me and u don pass all these level. I’ve never said anything hurtful to u,” he responded.
Taking things further, Tufab released a disclaimer, insisting that his life was under threat. “First of all, let me say I am not affiliated with any cult or fraternity. As you can see in this screenshot, I’m being threatened and this is not the first time. If anything happens to me, y’all know who to hold responsible,” he wrote.
I’m bringing this to the general public as a disclaimer against my personality.

First of all let me say I am not affiliated with any cult or fraternity and I don’t have a problem with anyone who is, because they are who they are and I’m who I am… I’m an army of God and chosen… pic.twitter.com/9Z3rSiJt6a
The development has since gone viral, with fans on X weighing in. While some condemned Davido’s alleged words, others urged both parties to settle their differences privately.
This heated exchange adds yet another twist to the ongoing rivalries and controversies that often dominate Nigeria’s vibrant music industry.
