Early Life
Odunlade Adekola was born and raised in Abeokuta, Ogun State, and hails from Otun Ekiti in Ekiti State. He attended St. John’s Primary School and St. Peter’s College, both in Abeokuta, where he completed his secondary education.
He then obtained a diploma from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) and later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos in May 2018.
Career
Odunlade Adekola began acting in 1996 when he joined the Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners. He has since written, produced, directed, and starred in numerous Nollywood films. He won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in 2014. In 2015, he made his debut in the Nigerian music scene. His expressive on-screen moments have become popular as internet memes across Nigeria.
He has also represented several major brands, serving as a brand ambassador for companies like RevolutionPlus Property, Goldberg beer, and Globacom Telecommunications.
Odunlade Adekola was born to Pastor Nathaniel Adekola and Deaconess Adekola, both committed members of the Christ Apostolic Church. His father, who began as a church choirmaster, later became a pastor. In 2003, Odunlade married Ruth Adekola, and the couple has five children.
