Early Life
Ini Dima-Okojie hails from Esan North-East Local Government Area in Edo State. Her father works as a medical doctor, while her mother is a retired banker and entrepreneur. She attended Air Force Primary School in Lagos before moving to Air Force Comprehensive Secondary School in Ibadan. She later earned a degree in International Relations from Covenant University. After working in investment banking, she made the bold decision to switch careers, studying acting at the New York Film Academy.
Career
Ini Dima-Okojie began her Nollywood journey as a production assistant on the film Before 30. She soon transitioned to acting and landed her first major role as Feyisayo Pepple in the television series Taste of Love. In 2016, she portrayed Hadiza Ahmed in Northeast, playing a Muslim woman in a cross-religious romantic relationship.
Also in 2016, she appeared in the Ndani TV web series Skinny Girl in Transit as Hadiza and featured in 5ive, Itโs Her Day, and Northeast. Her 2017 credits include roles in Battleground and The Royal Hibiscus Hotel. That same year, Pulse Nigeria listed her among the top seven Nollywood actresses, and she received another nomination from The Future Awards for her acting talent.
In 2018, Dima-Okojie starred in Sylvia as Gbemi Ogunlana in a film that explored spiritual love. Later, she played Ms. Catherine in Funke. In 2019, she portrayed Laitan Gesinde in the web TV series Oga Pastor, directed by Daniel Oriahi, though the series was later pulled down.
In 2020, she took on the role of Tami in Smart Money Woman, a series adapted from Arese Ugwu’s book. That same year, she also featured in Whoโs the Boss.
In 2021, she starred as Didi in Namaste Wahala, a Netflix original that explored an intercultural romance between an Indian man and a Nigerian woman.
Widely recognized for her fashion sense, Dima-Okojie has appeared on numerous media style lists, with Pulse Nigeria naming her one of Nigeriaโs most stylish celebrities.
In December 2020, she publicly shared her personal struggle with uterine fibroids, a condition she had battled since 2017, opening up to her followers about her health journey.
