Early Life

Saheed Balogun, born on February 5, 1967, is a veteran Nigerian actor, filmmaker, director, and producer known for pioneering work in African cinema, including the first two-cast movie in Africa and the first three-cast movie in West Africa.

Career

Balogun was born in Enugu State, located in southeastern Nigeria, but he hails from Oyo State. He completed his primary, secondary, and tertiary education in Oyo State, graduating from Kwara State Polytechnic. He began his acting career in 1978, making his debut in a television program called Youth Today aired on the Nigerian Television Authority. Saheed produced his first film, City Girl, in 1989. Before that, he had already been involved in producing and directing several Nigerian films. Over the years, he has built a reputation for his contributions to Nollywood, both in front of and behind the camera.

Saheed Balogun was initially married to Nollywood actress Fathia Balogun, but their marriage ended in separation and divorce. He later remarried and is a father to four children.
