Early Life

Paul Nonso Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, was born on November 18, 1981. He attended St. Murumba Secondary School in Jos alongside his identical twin brother, Peter Okoye, known as Mr P. Both brothers joined the school’s music and drama club, where they began dancing and performing cover songs from artists like MC Hammer, Bobby Brown, and Michael Jackson. This early exposure to music laid the foundation for their future careers.

Career

Rudeboy first rose to prominence as one half of the famous Nigerian duo P-Square during the 2000s. After the group disbanded in 2017, he pursued a solo career and quickly gained recognition. That year, Rudeboy released his debut solo tracks “Fire Fire” and “Nkenji Keke,” which showcased his distinct sound. His 2019 single “Reason With Me” became a massive hit, accumulating the highest number of views on YouTube in Africa that year. The music video, directed by Clarence Peters, has surpassed 189 million views, making it his most popular video to date. In 2019, Rudeboy established his own record label, Fire Department Inc., through which he releases his music. He launched his debut solo album, Rudykillus, in 2021, further solidifying his place in the Nigerian music industry.

Rudeboy Was married to Anita Isama on, The couple has three children, a son born in Atlanta in and a set of twins also born in the United States before their divorce.
